Racing cars are age-specific with smaller ones for kids (3-5yrs) and bigger cars and a realistic road experience for older kids- they will learn hand-eye coordination and hold their own driver’s license by the end.
Legoland combines learning opportunities with absolute fun and play. Take a robotics workshop at Lego Academy or enter Duplo Play Town for kids too young to take the rides. Little children can also join Rescue Academy and polish their firefighting skills.
If that is not enough there is a Star Wars mini-land with important structures of the star wars series made entirely of Lego blocks. Where is Legoland Located in Johor Bharu?
Legoland is located in Iskander Puteri (Nusajaya). It is very close to Tanjung Pelepas (10min) and Senai International Airport (20 mins). You can stay at Legoland hotel for around 1381 RM for a 5 person room (10 RM on all foreign travellers per night). If you don’t want to spend your life savings on a hotel stay, you can pick D elegance hotel in Nusajaya/Puteri for around 110 RM.
An Express bus from KL leaves for Legoland Malaysia at 7 am and reaches at 11:30 am for 57RM. You will be picked from Swiss-Garden Hotel and dropped at the Mall of Medini (10 min walk from Legoland). From JB you can take the Coastal Highway to Puteri via a taxi/rent a car.
Amusement Parks and National Park in Johor Bharu
There is also an Angry Birds Theme Park with amusement arcades and live performances of Angry Birds characters. Don’t forget to visit the Hello Kitty theme park nearby.
Johor Bharu Zoo is yet another place for the little ones to enjoy. The zoo also has a bird and reptile house.
Austin Heights Water Park in Johor Bharu

Redang Island and Desaru Beach
Redang island on the east coast of Malay Peninsula -part of the protected Terengganu Marine Park provides amazing snorkelling and diving opportunities for around 90 RM each. The island is a hot spot for Resorts and Spas and is a famous 1-2 day destination tour from JB.
The Island because of its location and access by speedboats is not recommended for a day trip. Most tour operators offer 1-2 night stays in 3-5 Star resorts along with a breakfast and meals package. The tour packages also include snorkelling, kayaking and Island Tours based on your Itinerary.

Pulau Radang a haven for trekkers as well. Track from Jalan Pasir Panjang village leads to wildlife and unique plants and the one from Pasir Panjang to Teluk Dalam affords a bit of challenge.

You can fly from Senai Airport to Kuala Terengganu (500-3000 RM), take a taxi to Syahbandar Jetty (55-70RM) and finally board a ferry to Redang Island (207RM). You will reach in about 7 hours. The least expensive option is by bus/ferry; take a bus to Kuala Terengganu, walk to Syahbandar Jetty (15min) and board a ferry to Redang. It will cost you around 380 RM in about 12 hours. Stay at Redang Island Resort for 194 RM or Taraas Beach and Spa Resort for 724 RM.
Desaru beach near JB is worth a visit for some laid back family fun. Be sure to visit the Fruit Farm and pick fresh Durian and Starfruit or pay a visit to the Ostrich Wonderland and even ride one. Alternatively, enjoy golf at Desaru Golf and Country Club or a jet ski/banana boat adventure.
The architecture of Johor Bharu
Johor Bharu (JB) is a melting pot of architectural influences. Find structures where Moorish, Victorian and Malay architecture intertwine like Sultan Abu Bakr State Mosque and Istana Besar (old royal palace). While Istana Bukit Serene– the current royal palace with its arch of the blue crown is not to be missed. The palace gardens are open to the public with manicured lawns, fountains and stunning light displays.
The remarkable Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple, built with millions of geometric glass pieces, is a sight to behold even from afar. It houses statues of both Budha and Christ- a testament to cultural amalgamation.
Walk along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and admire old Chinese style shop houses and explore dining options and antique shops.

Accommodation and Transport in Johor Bharu
If you stay in central Johor Bharu, you will have to rely on taxis as it is not planned for walking excursions. A good option for staying can be at Puteri Harbour if you are with children as this place is closer to children’s attractions like Legoland.

Catch a bus from KL to Johor Bharu it takes about 4 hours and costs 35 RM. Within Johor Bharu, it’s easy to use local buses and taxis. Download and install GRAB ridesharing app. which is quite helpful in commute around the city.
